Profile of Prof. G.O. Ajayi

 
Professor G. O. Ajayi obtained his Ph. D in Electrical Engineering (Communication) from University of Manchester in 1972.
The Professor has taught and conducted research in a number of Universities including Obafemi Awolowo University ILE-IFE.He is currently the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) charged with the responsibility for the implementation of the policy.Professor Ajayi has published over 80 scientific papers and journal in the field of Engineering and computer science. He has also published two books.

  • Visiting Scientist at the Communications Research Laboratory, Tokyo, Japan under the Japan Science and Technology Agency fellowship for three (3) months September to December 1998
  • Senior Associate of the International centre for Theoretical Physics, (ICPT) Trieste, Italy 1999 to Date
  • International centre for theoretical physics (ICPT) fellowship for Research in Italian Laboratories, 1988/1989 session, 1994(4 months) January to August, 1999 spent at the fondazione Ugo Bordoni, Rome and the (ICPT) Trieste, Italy
  • Visiting Scientist, communications research centre OHAWA Canada for 4 months in 1982, 1983, 1984
  • Research fellowship for four month spent at INRELSAT and COMSAT Laboratories in USA for radiometric measurements, May to August 1986
  • Swedish International Development Agency Research fellowship 1977/78 session spent at the UPPSala lonospheric Observatory, UPPSala, Sweden
  • Common wealth Postgraduate scholar 1969to1972 at the University of Manchester, UK
